Hi Ladies and gents,
I am Mark from England and am just about to enter the immigration pool at last after many months. I'm not sure which province my wife and I will be going to yet but suffice it to say I will have money burning a hole in my pocket for when I can get my PAL and go to the airgun store. I'm a 45 year old passionate airgunner and have been shooting airguns for about 35 years. most of my experience is vermin control and my family farm, whilst we still had the farm that is! and on many other farms in the area.
I have an Air Arms S410 .22 cal running the UK legal limit of 12 ft/lbs with a Walnut stock, Logun MK3 silencer, Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5-10x50mm scope and an IR hand held for spotting rats. When I get to your stunning country I will be on the look out for venues/permisions to shoot on and will take a pest control course if there are any available to me to prove my abilities both in my skill with an air rifle and most all in safety.
My favourite thing in the world is sitting in and around farm yards or in the woods shooting vermin, ieadly with a shooting partner or on my own. Anyway, thats enough for now, I can go on for hours about this.
Kind regards
Mark
ps - my motto is "respect your quarry and it will respect you by giving you sport for life" After all, it is pest control not pest extinction!

Hi, Mark - welcome to the CAF!

Sounds like you have a lifetime of experience already - do share some of it with us.

Too bad you can't bring your AA over to Canada (especially not with the silencer!).

At least you should be able to bring over your IR unit.

Some pics of your beauties would be nice...

B.C. is best!!

:D

Welcome from the far left coast of Canada!

Doug, no reason he can't bring his rifle at a later date, once he gets his PAL. Unfortunately Mark you'll have to leave the Logun moderator at home.

Hi,
Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I am truly sad about it but I sold my AA S410 and most of my hard earned kit to pay for my immigration atty etc which was 1990 USD and not CAD lol but I was glad to pay it to come to Canada. As far as my IR monocular is concerned which was a Pulsar Recon X870 if anybody has heard of that model, I most regretably sold that too. I decided that because there is so much going on in Canada with gun law at the moment ie the 4.2 ft/lbs thing, no moderators on anything and so on, that I would not risk trying to bring anything gun related apart from clothing etc. I do not want to get the wrong kind of attention with anything gun related if you know what I mean.

We will sell our house and my wife has said I can go to the gun store when we get to Canada and buy whatever I like, you notice she said whatever I "like" and not whatever I "need" hahahaha! and wait for it! I have shown her the AirArms S510 rifle with my choice of walnut stock, scope prices(400-500CAD) the largest 4500psi Alloy and carbon air tank etc etc and she said "Fine with me as long as I can have a new laptop" Who am I to argue, my good lady gets an 800 dolar laptop and I get to take three or four grand to the gun store, how great is that. So as you can immagine, I am not quite so sad about selling the gear I had now.

I always research my purchases before I go to the shop to buy and phone to confirm stock. I am a salemans dream in a way because I don't require advice on most aspects of most of my purchases(although ALWAYS willing to listen if he/she has new knowlede to impart to me) because I have researched them to death and where possible I try out any equipment I am thinking of buying. The thing with me that pleases but often surprises sales staff when buying a list of quite expensive equipment is that I just "good morning, I'd like an AIrArms S510, scope, fill cyl etc etc" and they tend to think I'm wealthy and do this all the time lol. I'm not wealthy but rather, I know what I want/need when I walk in.

I noticed that somebody said to share my knowledge and experience, I will always gladly help with any questions that I have I good answer to. I have taught shooting for years in the UK both target and hunting and am always open to question but at the same time I love to hear hints, tips and advice from anybody who knows something I do not and most people you meet can contribute to your existing knowledge.

I assume I should be moving to another page in the forum after this, is that correct?
