 Post subject: millenium pumper problem

i removed the guage and also the guage block to which the guage is connected the problem is the thead sealer.i used teflon plumbing tape that worked in all of my other work,and white stick loctite to try to seal it but so far nothing works and since the guage block which us brass is threaded into aluninum and do not want to damage anything i am looking for something else that will work
any advice will be welcome.

As a Millwright with over 40 years of exposure to Hi-pressure Air and Hydraulics I can not recommend tape for either . If dope does not seal it , you will need to replace both fittings . They only can be assembled and disassembled so many times . Could one of the pieces be Straight Pipe ?

I assume you have the Millennium Pumper I built and sold to lauchlin?.... These are the parts?....


Both the gauge threads and the threads between the adapter and the valve are tapered, 1/8" NPT.... I used the yellow gas-fitters Teflon tape to seal it.... As long as the threads are not damaged, that should work just fine.... Try two complete wraps....
