Hi there!
Another Montrealer reporting in.
Used to shoot powder burners until it got a bit rich for my blood. Discovered airguns on a camping trip with friends and have since been bitten by the bug, trying to get my mitts on any that interest me.

So Uh... Hi!

Welcome aboard, Octo-man :)

Your short story is is probably similar to that of many members of the forum. So, are you really in your eighties? :)

No matter what the age, air gunning is an uncontrollable disease, and you are exposing yourself to terminal cases on this forum. Did both powder and air as a youngster, but +++, air is the word for shooting entertainment these days.

Enjoy your stay!

Haha, that's the first time I've been accused of that! I'm a little younger than that; the name comes from a novel, means 'to eighty-six', as in to eject someone from a bar or something. :P

Oh, indeed. I mean it's not even a word that should exist.
Here, let me see if I can get the quote for you...

Thomas Pynchon, Vineland wrote:
They had seen things in the forest, and particularly up along Seventh River, whose naming aloud, in certain area taverns, was cause for summary octogenarihexation from the establishment, as well as for less formal sanctions in the parking lot.
