Of course, Pellgunoil can be used in the Colt Peacemaker .177 CO2 revolver. Read my review on the Colt Peacemaker: topic67208.html

I’ve been using Pellgunoil for years in all my CO2 pistols. It’s the best. One sparse drop on the tip of a CO2 cartridge will do.

Thank you! I have used it on my mark 1 for years but i thought i would check. Have you tried pellets in your colt? Also i read and liked your review. I received the blued version with the ivory handles.

Surely, I did. Just for curiosity I tried the .177 RWS Diabolo Basic pellets and .177 H&N Sport Preazisions-Rundkugel copper plated lead balls. The skirt of a pellet had to be seated slightly below the surface of the rubber/plastic seal at the bottom of the fake shell.
Obviously, the first effect you see with pellets/lead balls is a substantial drop in muzzle velocity to an average of about 350 fps from about 420 fps with the steel BBs. The muzzle energy remains nearly the same because both pellets and lead balls are heavier than steel BBs.
However, the accuracy of a 6-shot pellet string was inconsistent. I noticed that sometimes when the pellet hit the front opening of the shell, its skirt became squashed when it was leaving the shell's front muzzle opening and entered the inner steel smooth bore barrel of the revolver. That happened because the skirt diameter of the pellet was much larger than the diameter of the front muzzle opening of some shells (the fake shells are cast and don’t have tight tolerances). Obviously, that affected accuracy. A similar behavior I noticed for copper plated leads balls.
All in all, I don’t see any compelling reason for shooting either pellets or lead balls in the Colt Peacemaker. Perhaps, if the inner channel within the shell was drilled to the exact dimension of the skirt diameter of the pellet (or the ball diameter) then the above problem could be rectified. But then the fake shells would be useless for shooting much smaller steel BBs. Doesn’t make too much sense.
