Hello, my name is Mike... I'm not quite a airgunacolic, but doing my best to get there

-

Been shooting 10M AP for a few years. Lack of firearm range in this part of the world has me interested in air rifle... seems like FT would be a good way to get some quality trigger time! Spent some time lurking, figured I might has well signed up. Seems like a great community.

Mike

Salut et Bienvenue Mike ! I'm in the same situation as you: I like my real guns, but I found it harder and harder to shoot. Much easier with air guns and airsoft. I have the chance to live in a small country town so I can shoot airguns outside without problems...and I'm getting addict .. :)

Who was it that said: The only difference between a man and a boy is the price of his toy...
He was right.

Last time I went shopping for a air rifle, must have 1982... and after countless hours browsing catalogs/flyers/sports shops (and going over my budget) I had settled for a Daisy Powerline.

Fast forward to 2015, the wife is shaking her head at the time I'm spending online reviewing this or that air rifle... there are just too many choices

Thanks for the welcome.
Yes, I'll have plenty of questions!

Je veux savoir trop Mike!

LOL, actually I don't speak french very well. I have to rely on Google translate or my seven year old granddaughter for translation.

I call home Dalhousie, NB which is on the Restigouche River. I can see the lovely Gaspe' Peninsula from my living room window.
Maybe if you don't live very far from me we can meet sometime. I have a variety of airguns that I'd be more than welcome to let you shoot.
It would give you an idea what to buy.

Myself I buy mostly from online stores or from other members of this online forum.

Sureshot,

Might have to take you up on your offer... I'm just across the pond (Maria). Funny thing is, we often end up in Dalhousie. Either at the LER theater or Restigouche Gun Club...

Now if you had a boat the trip would be shorter.

There's not much going on in Dalhousie these days silentman.
The paper mill and the power plant are closed. The only business that's booming are the senior's homes.

Now if you had a boat the trip would be shorter.(There was, year's back, a ferry betwen Miguasha and Dalhousie, would of save almost an hour  )

The paper mill and the power plant are closed (WOW, what else was there :( before, man that's sad. That's such a nice area.) The only business that's booming are the senior's homes.

It's a bit why I moved to the big city, work... :!:

Welcome Mike! It doesn't take too much to get hooked on
airguns. This forum might even speed up the process;-)

I can attest to that. I came here doing research on an air rifle to hunt rats, a few weeks later I am on my second rifle (resold my first one), got a Crosman Vigilante pellet pistol, and a BB gun on the way. This is from a guy who bought an Crosman American classic over 30 years ago, never shot a pellet through it and left it on the shelf for all these years.
