It's an old self cocker. Rather than fool around trying to get the right ( quad  ) seals for it, I'd like to up grade the gun to a modern manual cocker with a new valve....

Has anyone attempted this?
Ideally, I'd end up with the bolt drawing the hammer back via a pin... if not, generation II 13-XX STYLE plunger and rod...

Suggestions welcome!

Regards,

Doc Sharptail

Hacked2Pieces would be a knowledgeable person to consult about that.

From what ive found between the two is that obviously the valve/hammer/bolt/trigger is clearly different but i think the maintube is aswell... Haven't had the auto-cocking style for a bit now but with all the variations crosman has made its hard to even swap recievers sadly!

You are correct in the many variations Crosman made- up to a point.
I have an old 140 here with the flow-trol valve and hammer that actually has a hammer pin slot in the tube, so go figure.

I'm pretty sure the 761 I have is the same- a self cocker with a hammer pin slotted tube. I'm guessing Crosman was much like Marlin in the old days when nothing- absolutely nothing  got thrown out. Old guns with newer parts inside of them...
At any rate, I'll get something going. Still haven't tried over on the GTA- there may be something worth digging up over there...

Doc Sharptail
