Just a quick pic showing the after shot of removing the warning etchings on the right side of gun.
I didn't even think about taking before shots, but I'm sure you all have the same labels on your weapons as well.
I'm new to air guns, guns in general, so this is just a small cosmetic mod that I felt good at attempting.
The process was simple. I just did two stages of wet sanding with 1000 grit then 2000 grit sandpaper. It did not get rid of the etching entirely, but faded it significantly. I did protect the surrounding areas with painters tape and wrapped the sand paper around the eraser end of a pencil. I touched up the area with a thinned coat of Tremclad flat black rust paint. One coat only. Then a quick wetsand with 1000grit, only to try and match the texture. The paint is so far holding up well to cleaning and oil.
