Does anyone know of a gunsmith that will convert my Benjamin Marauder .22 to .30 cal in Canada?
Thanks,

You would be looking at a valve change to either the W.A.R. valve, or the new Cothran valve to get any real usable power in a .30 cal MRod.... The stock valve cannot be drilled out very far on the exhaust port without running into the poppet seat and ruining the valve.... Just something to consider.... The rest of the stuff (barrel, larger magazine, larger bolt, etc.etc. are things you know you will be facing.... but that one you may not be aware of.... A .30 cal magazine is available from AirGunLab in the States....

I can not comment upon the WAR valve but I can about the Cothran. I am the only Canadian who has used them to date, to my knowledge. Well worth the investment to get your powers worth in pushing a 30 cal rnd out the bbl. You just missed Dons first run of the Marauder series valve. Next run should be ready within a month or so. Price pending Canadian exchange is just short of $250cnd. SMP upon this forum may have stock in Canada of the 30cal bbl. The rest is as what Bob explained. Shoot me a pm I can help you make the transition to 30cal. Im also just up the road from you so to say.

Regards

Hi Richard, welcome.

1- get the gun,
2 - get a .30 barrel from Sean P.
3 - get mags from Lloyd , air gun lab
4- Send 1,2,&3 to Kim the Whitewolf, he's good, and close to.

Hey, Kim, can you remember how those 2 Don Cothran valves performed?

Performance from The Cothran valve in a rifle format will exceed 100fpe with little to no additional modifications as an out of the box application. Additional mods give the avaibility to exceed 150fpe, from a performance stand point. The SMP/ Rsterne .300 bbl is quite capable of 1.5 - 2 MOA with factory and casted ammo.
With Reaper's Big Bore pistol applications the valves had to be restricted to stay within the nonrestricted territory.

Precisely,
So add a Don Cothran Valve and your in business.
While the Rifle, barrel, mags, and valve are in Kim's hands,
Will he can open it up and fit it together to it all works smoothly.

This is just a suggestion, he is local, and he has the skills and workshop
To make it happen. The rest is up to you.
