I got some parts in today ( Thanks Kim and Eric ) to start to convert my 1377 pump to C02. I'm making a fraken 1740. I won't start to assemble till I make sure my Chrony comes in and get that setup. That should be Thursday, but battling the flu.

I got the valve rebuilt, new seals, hammer, RVA, grip installed.

I'm thinking I'm going to need to cut and re crown the 177 barrel to about 8" Being this 10.25" barrel would probably push it over the limit. Anyone chim in?

In the unlikely event that the 1377 barrel is over the limit, your RVA will easily bring you back into spec. It'll depend on which Transfer Port you're using, the 13XX, or the 22XX.
Recrown at your discretion, but the cut will be completely optional for aesthetic. . .
You're gonna love this thing!

I'm using the 1377 one. I gotta make sure that my spring guide doesn't bind up like BassmanSteve said his did. Already I like it more than my 1377.

It's alive. No leaks. Passed C02 test. Haven't chrony yet. But I got the rva backed out to the max for now.

I was over with the stock 1377 barrel. had to lighten the hammer as well as shorten the spring...

But I was using the big 2240 port. Never thought about using the 1377 transfer. D'oh!

I would love to have it not rely on the RVA. I got a 1377 hammer and some spare springs.

How much did you lighten the hammer and clip the spring? Or how did you lighten it? jst drill holes all around ( dimple )

*edit*

Chrony got delayed a day. But thanks BassmanSteve not using the 1377 just makes my work a little easier.

And helping others with them as well. Thanks. The Homemade 1740 is better than the 1377.

CANADA LEGAL..

So the build is a 2240 valve, 1377 transfer port, 1377 hammer spring ( un cut, stock end cap ), 1377 10.25" barrel..

NO cutting of springs, no RVA. So if you do want to do this and you DON'T have a chrony you still be LEGAL.

Excellent news.

A LOT easier than all the grinding and filing I had to do, in order to de-tune my 1740 while retaining the stock 2240 transfer port.

While I had the chrony out I tested things like
"power" hammer springs ( NO GO )
Factory spring with a spring guide. ( NO GO )

Factory spring w/o a spring guide ( good to go)
