Hi all,
Rick here to pick your brains.

I am in process of upgrading / rebuilding my spring compressor.
What I am looking for is the range of outside diameters for springer air chambers.
Pistol and Rifle.
Based on my experience so far, it about 1 to 1.5 inches.

I am adding another axis to this tool to make it more universal and this info would be very helpful.

I beleive the Hatsan 135 would be the biggest around with a 30 mm ID . One and a half inch would be more than enough IMO.

Thanks a bunch Hobbyman.
My goal was a safe compressor that would cover the range.
I think I have it covered, I guess I'll find out as the guns come through!
Regards
Rick

Here is the spring compressor as it stands now.
I have also made a pass-through holder if the barrel is left on. (not my preference)
There are multiple lead-screw end fittings that cover the guns I have worked on to date. (I make em as I need em) These are attached with a machine screw in a counter-bored hole. the screw bottoms out so the fitting can rotate. there is a shoulder on the end of the main screw to stabilize the fitting. all contact with the chamber is either UHMW or dense foam to prevent marring.
The length of the extruded track is 3', but a barrel could hang past that.
Pistols work well in this too.
Typically my process is to pin down the chamber with the center bridge based on , then adjust the height of the lead screw and stop to center on the diameter. slide the guard into place as an extra precaution.(blind in one eye, don't want to take any chances)
Please critique and pass any other ideas I can make use of based on your experiences.
