Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum - my son and I have a collection of about 25 pistols and revolvers - some really high end but most the higher end Umarex type guns. I have a few that I would like to sell so will be attempting to post in the next few days. I'm very happy to have access to the kind of expertise that you have in the group as I don't have a great deal of knowledge or technical expertise - thank you for having me. Dene

Welcome to the forum!

I read from your post that you're from Vancouver. Quite a few of us in the area. If you ever decide to get into it, we shoot at the Mission Rod & Gun club once a month, and have a great time. Rarely pistols involved, but there's certainly no reason why not to!

hi, Dene - welcome to the CAF!

I noticed in your For Sale ad that you claim the the Ruger air pistol that you are selling shoots 6mm STEEL bbs.

I have never heard of such an item - please tell us more about them...

One of the nicest introductions I've come across. You are correct, there are many knowledgeable people and innovative thinkers here.
Coolest part is they actually take the time to post; in great detail, most times with diagrams, graphs, charts, formulae even concepts, problems & solutions.
Looking forward to your contributions - if you have an idea, don't hesitate to share.
Welcome to the forum :)

Yes, it seems that it is a little bit of an odd duck. All three of these pistols came with a packet of 100 steel 6mm bb's. I know that technically a 6mm pistol would be considered an airsoft gun, however the claimed fps is 450-500 and obviously using it as an airsoft gun would be extremely dangerous and irresponsible. We used the steel bbs in the pistol that I am keeping - indeed it fires very hard, however my concern would be that it might do damage to the inner barrel? - not sure - anyway, it obviously also fires synthetic bbs which is a much safer option. It would be an extremely unpleasant experience to be hit by a 6mm steel ball ricocheting at 450 fps. We made some inquiry as to where to obtain more of these bbs - 100 wouldn't go very far. You won't be surprised that they seem to be unavailable here. The closest thing that we could find are 6mm steel bicycle ball bearings - same thing maybe? Dene
