Yes Arden, the two-stage piston is also on my active list of To-Dos. Actually, as soon as I'm finished with the breech, it's the very next step of my project :D . I made some progress and it's just the lack of time that put a temporary halt on the piston and linkage work :hsmash . But rest assured I REALLY want to make it work  .

I keep toying with the idea of trying to build one with existing parts (ie. Home Depot brass & SS bolt).
On my wish list: 1) mini machine lathe, 2) some machining skills.
I shall wait patiently to see your finished product...

I actually made the smaller, inner piston out of a 1/2''-13NC x 3'' stainless steel bolt, from my local RoNa hardware store.
If I can give an advice, look for used school books for learning the basics of machining, you could find good deals, and it's about the easiest way of learning the theory side of it :) . I learned a lot from a book dating back to 1965, inherited from an dear uncle!

Sweet looking work!
Just wondering if you made any progress with the two stage pump?

Unfortunately not a lot. I fell sick at the end of summer, and had to put a lot of projects on the back burner. Two full-time jobs and a lot of worries is not the best way to stay healthy  . Funny that you bring the topic back, I was about to start working on that project in the coming days :) . With the holidays break, I should have some ''free'' time to work on that. Thanks for your interest!

P.S. : Have a look at Joe Hickey's SSP rifle in the ''Gallery'' section, very interesting project too!
