I was browsing through a magazine when I came upon a writer's explanation for the different types of airguns. So I thought I'd ask the forum: If you could only have 1 gun from each category, what would it be? The purpose can be for whatever (i.e.. plink, target, display, collect, etc.)

Conditions: max value of $2000 (before tax) for each choice; at least one pistol

Just curious,

Spring : HW95 Lexus .177 cal
Pneumatic : Millennium Pumper .25 cal
CO2 : 3050 Custom (.30 cal, 2250 based, 44.7 gr.@ 495 fps)
PCP : .257 cal Custom shooting boattail bullets @ 1000 fps

You will note that three of the above are guns I have built myself, because they do not exist in commercial production....

Springer: I have to go with my Webley Tempest. It's not the most powerful, or the most accurate, but it's nice and small, and has the most nostalgia for me - I've had mine for about 30 years now.

Pneumatic: Webley Nemesis in .22, a single-pump pneumatic. It's easy to pump, not too loud, fairly accurate, and the size and weight are good.

CO2: 2240, because you can do so much with it. I'm very happy with the results of my own 2240 project; powerful, accurate, but a bit loud and a bit large.

PCP: never owned one, so I don't really have any preference.

Spring: HW95 non-luxus .22 - the "if I can only have one" gun all-rounder.
Pneumatic: HW75 for casual targets / plinking
PCP: Morini 162 MI for 10m AP, for someone who likes 10m AP
CO2: Tau200 (never owned one) for casual rifle targets indoors... I'd rather have another HW for this purpose, but within the limits here, I've heard enough good things about the Tau's, lighter than a full blown 10m AR.

I know the last message was in June. Hope I'm not to late to butt in.

Wow $2000 for each gun. I'm rich.

There aren't many $2000 springers around. But at the high end my fave is the Diana RWS 54 Air King.
Pneumatic is easy: FWB LP100. Great for keeping pigeons off the roof - at 10 meters.
PCP: Walther LP 400. A gem.
CO2: Walther Lever Action. Great replica of the Winchester '94. There's nothing like shooting history.

And the nice thing is I have two of the above. The other two...... well one day.

Pistols, now that's a totally different discussion.
