I have a long steel Crosman breech for a build on a 2240.Ordered the LPA rear sight and it slides right on through the dovetail. Not thrilled. Breech measurements are bottom of dovetail .460" ....top .422" LPA sight bottom .454" and top .410" So much for a factory replacement fit.Now will have to dick around with a shim............Harold

Has anyone else run into this issue with the LPA sight?

I have. I cut a little piece of shim and filed it neatly, when you tighten the sight it
locks the shim in so it hasn't moved. This was a few years ago so its not a new
problem.

From another forum, apparently Crosman had a batch of out of spec steel breeches a few years ago so now I know it is not the sight itself. So it goes......Harold

did you screw down the 2 tiny hex screws on top of the sight all the way down to lock it in place? a lot of people think its suppose to slide in tight with no play, there will always be abit of play until both screws are tighten all the way. I just checked 4 of my 22XX airguns that have Crosman steel breeches and LPA sight, they all have play in the dovetail cutout, until its tighten down.

No this one was quite sloppy. Shimmed the dovetail bottom to 0.40 and then tightened the site down. A much better fit and lock down now.

Wow that is weird.... I'm going to be picking up another 2240 pistol and steel breech to convert to a .177 as I have a bunch of .177 to get rid of. I figured that was the best way to get rid of them... Will have to keep an eye out on the cut out when I pick up a steel breech so I don't run into that issue, thanks guys
