Hi i have a Crossman phantom .22 pellet gun and i recently put a XS Titan #6 spring in it but when i try cocking the gun it doesn't work.
I want to know what i need to do to make it work.
I haven't cut the spring or made any other modification the the gun previously .

Is the spring going solid before compressing enough to latch the sear?

Spring too strong and the sear not able to keep the piston back?

I seriously doubt that. I'm guessing the spring coil binds before the sear can catch, but I doubt that with that spring unless you shimmed it. Or you tinkered with the trigger and now it can't catch? So what all did you tamper with and what exactly is it doing when you try to cock it?
