I'm only posting this as I've seen a few negative remarks about Umarex warranty service, so I just wanted to show that it can be excellent.

I bought one of those $100 Ruger Air Hawks from Walmart. It turned out the post office in Hill Spring was a Walmart pick up point so I had it sent to the Hill Spring pick up point. I walked the 2 blocks and got it from the post mistress instead of having it mailed to me and walking 2 blocks and getting it from the post mistress.

Anyway, the gun was fine except the barrel was bored badly off centre. It had been "counter-sunk" to allow air from the transfer port into the barrel, but it made pellets hard to seat consistently.

I emailed Rob at R&R (inthemarsh@hotmail.com) and he told me to get the phone # for Canadian customer service to be found on the Umarex USA web site, call them (don't leave a message - it's faster to just keep calling back), explain the problem and get a return authorization (RA) number. Then I was to mail the barrel with the RA# and a copy of my receipt to Rob. Simple.

I called, and got an answer the first time, explained the problem, got my RA#, sent the stuff to Rob, and today I got a new barrel (with even a new breech seal) in the mail.

All it cost me was a few days without the gun, and the cost of my mailing to R&R in Manitoba.

I had no resistance from either Umarex or Rob.

I've been dealing with Rob for over 18 months now, and I'm always happy.

When I ordered my Air Hawk, I emailed Rob at R&R (before it had even arrived) and asked him to send me a high power spring. (Not warranty, I paid for it).

He mailed it to me the following day.
