I've been looking to buy the Sig Sauer MCX. For starters is it legal if i get my PAL and how much trouble would that cause me. Second, it is listed at 475 fps with .22 caliber pellets and 700 fps with .177 caliber pellets. Can the same gun fire both .177 and .22 pellets, or is there two different variants. If there isnt two variants can i buy the gun if i only use .22 cal pellets in canada.?

It's highly doubtful that this gun will be available in Canada as a non-restricted firearm. In fact, it's not likely that it's destined for Canada in any rendition. The first problem is the manufacturer's delusions of velocity grandeur. Their claim of 700+ fps (alloy pellets) is, first of all, about 250 fps above what has been tested to be reality. As long as the manufacturer remains delusional, we'll never see this gun as is in Canada (and who would want a detuned version of a 700+ air gun that really only shoots in the mid 400s using light lead pellets?). For any Canadian interested in this gun, it's a wait-and-see scenario at the moment. I wouldn't wait too long; the new Beretta CX4 is a viable alternative that is already here.

As far as your specific questions go, here's my take:
• Even if you had your PAL, and this gun was actually classified as a rifle by Canadian authorities, getting someone to ship it to you would be challenging at best.
• No, one gun does not shoot either calibre; pick one or the other.
* Right now, you cannot buy either calibre in Canada.

Nah. That's the same one that's been around for years. There have always been two versions differing only in velocity - 495fps (primarily Canada) and 600fps (primarily in the US). Plus the 'XT' version (which I have) that comes with a scope, front picatinny rails, and front grip/bipod.

MPX/MCX already discussed and classified:
topic73355.html
Not good news, MPX in .22 only option without a RPAL. I asked for a second look at the classification but no reply so far.
AGS are showing the PAL rated CX4 in stock. +$400 though so I'm thinking of going 9mm instead for a little more. Okay, 3x more...
