As I mentioned in my introduction, I purchased an XISICO XS28M .22 pellet rifle. From the research that I have found here and online, pellet rifles are pretty hard on scopes. I would like to buy once. Any recommendations?

I've got a Nikon Target EFR on my HW80. Great scope, and takes the magnum Springer beating. I'd recommend it.

I know you're looking for scope recommendations. I have all "inexpensive" scopes which I like (UTG - Hawke - Center-Point, and they all work at least for a while, but I thought you might like to consider a much less expensive alternative.

I've had an XS28M for about a year and I've never tried a scope on it.

I read on this forum comments that it is a "scope eater", and since I prefer open sights anyway I decided to stay with them and I have no plans to scope it.

I like the front sight on the XS28M, and I bought a Williams model 5D-AG peep sight for the rear from Amazon.com in the US. Cost about $40.00 USD

Although I really like the 5D-AG, if I was doing that again, I'd probably go for the more expensive and more easily adjustable Williams model FP AG/TK. Cost about $75 USD.

One advantage I've noticed with peep sights attached to the dove-tail, is that because they're so light compared to a scope, they' don't tend to slide backwards with shooting. (I have UTG peep sights on other guns' smooth cut dovetails and they don't slide backwards either.) They also don't add much to the weight of the rifle.

I shoot targets at 25 metres, and even my old eyes (with spectacles) can see a 3/4" target dot at that distance. And I'm better at hitting them with open sights than with scopes. Go figure.

Anyway, good luck with your enquiry.

Peter :D
