Bought a ''parts'' .22 QB rifle a while ago, and I never thought it would come back to life that way! I made a new cherrywood stock, bought a new valve, hammer and spring, as well as a new trigger unit. I re-cut and re-crowned the barrel (wasn't too good looking), made a brass cup for the SS bolt that's now used to hold the action in the stock, and added a 3-9x40 Weaver scope. Still have some finishing work to do on the stock, but so far it's working well, no leaks :D . I haven't had the opportunity to really shoot it, but an electronic Shooting Chrony (my mechanical chrony is too much set-up) is on my way, so velocity and accuracy tests will soon be made 8) .

Greetings

Excellent and I will second the wow on the checkering. Well done. Hope it shoots as good as it looks!

I had the opportunity to check the velocity of my rifle today with my brand new Shooting Chrony F-1 chronograph :) . Here are the results.

With a fresh cartridge of CO2, at 25° Celsius, about 65% humidity, 10 shots string using 14.3 gr. Crosman Premier Hollow Point pellets:

1- 464 fps
2- 462 fps
3- 464 fps
4- 467 fps
5- 468 fps
6- 469 fps
7- 466 fps
8- 470 fps
9- 468 fps
10- 460 fps

This gives an average of 465.8 fps, with an avg. ME of 6.89 fpe. I must say I'm rather satisfied with the results, but I wonder if I had waited more than just the necessary time to re-charge, say 45-60 second between shots, if the results would have been more consistent. Anyway, it's looking good for target shooting! Can't wait to do the accuracy test!

Just received and installed a self-indexing repeater mag kit (thanks Eric!). The available to download instructions are clear and easy to follow 8) . I was wondering how this kit would fit with a scope; it fits very well with high profile rings. I'll make a review on it eventually.

Nice work on that stock. It looks to be extremely comfortable to hold. The lower palm rest especially. I had never tried a gun with that lower palm rest until recently, and find it feels more natural and comfortable. Great job.

Thanks a lot, Joe :) . It is indeed very comfortable, and stabilise the hand very well, be it upright or rested shooting. I'D be very curious to see your version of a grip with a palm rest (if ever you have time!). That would be nice on your SSP prototype, JMHO.

I have decided to go all metal, tactical style, but did put the palm rest on it. Thats when I realized how nice it is to have one. My days of stock building are over, unfortunately, because of arthritis in my hands.
