any idea what the issue is? I took about 10 shots and it worked but then all of a sudden it would dry fire with the pellet still in

I tried a bunch of pellets, but still the same issue. Any idea what the issue would be ? thanks folks

Meaning it no longer pushes the pellet out of the barrel?

This is not a dry fire...dry firing is firing without something chambered.

Do you notice a difference in cocking effort or now feel air coming from the breech seal area when fired?

I assume the barrel is not obstructed?

If none of those three....best guess would be the piston seal cratered on you.

Al

Gippeto is right.

The air has to come out somewhere.

If it has a pellet in the barrel it is an obstruction, if everything else is sealed correctly the pellet should be pushed out as it is a moveable obstruction (except if it is oversize and jammed in place).

With a break barrel if the air is not coming out of the barrel it will leak at the breach seal as Gippeto suggested.

If you don't feel any air, it might be a problem in the compression chamber.

Try by removing the pellet from the barrel using a small wood dowel. I sometime use a brochette bambou skewer for clearing a .177 caliber pellet.

If you have a caliper check the diameter of your pellets and try one with a smaller size and looser fit. If it doesn't come out of the barrel you will need to continue your investigation.

The pistol is rated as a 500 fps and should be able to push a pellet without any issue.

With yours there is one that must be found.

Good luck.

Jag once your bbl is free of the pellet. Place a small piece of paper over the port and close the bbl. Then shoot. If the paper blows a perfect round hole then it maybe your pellets. If its ragged you seal is gone. Same seal as the Meteor JM has good Titan seals for replacement.

I would say buff washer and piston seal. Don't keep firing as the piston head will be trap in the chamber .
good luck they can be tricky as you need to tie down the trigger or things will go a rye.

Had the same issue with a basket case I was given. Ended up being a clip that retains the piston head to the piston body let go. I found a replacement piston head from the UK . Now I'm searching for a safety spring that no one caries . I don't remember what I paid for the head and seal/o ring but I know it wasn't cheap. I may be interested in selling . Pm if interested

Some had a set screw in the transfer port to limit power . The set screw was was capped and not visible with a friction fitted ball bearing covering it . Check the for the presence of both .
