I have secured "the thing" but due to lack of time couldn't bring it home today. Will be here tomorrow afternoon. Think u all'll agree that it's a winner when you see pics of it and how it kills two birds with a single pellet (so to speak).

Here's the ideal solution: a double-duty shooting bench that also poses as an air hockey table! Nice ergonomics as it's just the right height on a very stable platform with zero wiggle. Best of all, there's no need to stash it away after a shooting session. All I need to do is remove the chair so the boys can play air hockey (which they are doing as I type this). Will look great beside the pinball machine once the basement is complete. Since it'll be placed side-by-side with the pinball machine I'll have to shoot from the end, which is just fine as 30" is plenty of room. And as an added bonus, on those hot days I just need to turn the table on for a nice light breeze. This old Cooper table is in superb condition and cost me as much as a set of folding legs.

Thanks all for the ideas and input. It led me to this great find and a very unique shooting bench.
