Hey guys. I've been searching around on the web. I was wondering anyone has modded this particular model (Which I hear is really common for the price point) So I had a few questions which I haven't really been able to find answers to... A) does some one make an aftermarket spring guide/rear cap for the spring compression chamber b)If one were to shim the spring what size ID/OD washers would one recommend? Or if you could point me in the direction of the correct length of spring. I haven't finished taking the rifle apart (Need to bring a spring compressor to work) but I have a sneaking suspicion that the plastic spring guide is more than likely broken and would like to replace with a quality metal one.. I've heard the variability on these models is pretty high, but I seem to think I have reasonable one. I was getting some good groups on it at 10m. I don't know if Im asking too much, but I'm sure with such a popular rifle theres got to be more than few people out there in good old canada to answer me. Plus, with this recent country wide cold snap, I figure most of you aren't out shooting ;) Thanks guys. Have a good one

I've had mine apart 3 times so far, not counting refinishing the skid wood, er, stock I mean. Wish I had measured things at the time, could have given you an answer.

You will have the white plastic guide and base for the spring like I do (pretty sure). Mine was not broken I did put a washer for the spring to sit on.

As I recall, there was not a ton of room for pre-load. Best bet is a spring with thicker coils and same length i think. Going to try a few one of these days.

I do want to modify a few things, just a bit. A tapered breech hole and some minor lightening of the piston. After that, whatever the FPS is will be good enough as its no slouch right now.

Dont want to spend ANY money, or much more time on a $79.00 rifle...had my fun with it already, time to finish up and move on.

Cool ITGuy, if you could give me the dimensions of the washer you used, or if you decide you're going to replace the spring and let me know where you got them. I saw archer air had a pretty cheap rebuild kit for them, but by the looks of it all my seals are intact and in good repair. Have to shave down the front sight a bit as I'm shooting quite high still despite having the rear sight tightened down as low as I can get it, also the rear sight is far left and still shoots a bit right.. Not quite sure what to do about it, may just forgo the ironsights and scope it..

Actually, you have to raise the front sight to lower your point of impact.
