Here is my attempt at some grips for the Umarex Peacemaker. I still need to finish with stain and Tung oil. I have done about a dozen wood stocks and grips, but found getting the right shape challenging. In the photo, you can see where the fit is not perfect. I also still need to get a better solution for the little tab that the plastic originals use for the removable grip. A wooden tab seems to break too easily. I may embed a magnet into the frame.

beautiful job. can't wait to see them when they are done. are you going to stain them dark. that would look good.

Yes, definitely a dark stain - for me it won't look right otherwise.

when I did the wood grips on my old peacemaker I think I used dark cherry wood stain and then a coat of clear coat. came out nice and dark and shiny. the one on the left. the later ones had plastic grips. and I did my tomahawk with the same stain. click on pic for bigger. are they just a project for yourself or are you thinking of making a few to sell.

Nice looking finish! I am going to use a dark red mahogany stain that seems close to the dark cherry you used.
I am only doing one for now. It seems a little too complex for me for mass production.
