I finished my Peacemaker grips with a dark red mahogany stain and several coats of Tung oil.

The last photo shows the rather messy interior of the grips. I mostly used some small, sharp scorps to hollow out the grips. Some areas are quite thin. I also used a piece of brass as the retaining tab. The large surface area and flexibility of the tab seem to make it work reliably.

That is fine work!
I have had in mind doing the same thing. I have some walnut 1/2'' wood stock blanks standing by to be shaped.
Just need to find some time with a scroll saw and a Dremel tool to get to this project amongst my other airgun mod. projects.
I like the way you figured out the 'corner bracket' to mate with the pistol frame. Altogether nicely done. Congratulations.
Cheers!

Thanks! If I were to do this again, I might make a wooden copy of the handle part of the frame. I could then mount the grip blanks on this in order to shape them more precisely.
