Okay I have a adjustable hammer face on one of my 22xx guns. I CC as far as you could but it's decreasing the fps instead of increasing,so I'm thinking I have to adjust the VA to match. I'm using the same hammer spring and tension as i was originally. Having a hard time figuring it out.

I'm using a heavyyy hammer spring.

What would using a lighter valve spring do?
.
Keeping the same hammer spring and VA at the same setting.

Does this make any sense?

Thanks

If you are looking for more power, the springs are the wrong place to look.... The 2240 in particular, with its 8" barrel, already wastes vast amounts of CO2, and increasing the hammer spring only wastes more.... The 2260, with its 24" barrel may gain a small amount of velocity with a stronger hammer spring, but not in proportion to the amount of CO2 you will use.... Larger ports (within reason) will pay benefit in power without a huge waste of CO2, unless you also add a heavy hammer spring, and then you will waste even more.... Using a lighter valve spring does the same thing as adding a heavier hammer spring, but without making the gun harder to cock....

and of course any mods you do to the 2240 or 2250 could run you into R-PAL territory very quickly, so you should restrict your experiments to the 2260....

This is for my 2260 hipac, 18" barrel heavy hammer spring stock disco valve BnM breach. because the breach is a high rise it has a longer tp and I have lost at least 60-70 fps. Sergio made me transfer port as big as he could drill out the stock one, I don't remember the size off hand. I have poly tube but would have to do some tinkering if used.

So having the heavy hammer spring and light valve spring wouldn't do much?

I guess having the ports drilled out on the valve and inside and barrel would be the solution or find a modded one, I don't own any machines to do it.

I have a Pal lisence!

I didn't realize you were using HPA, my comments were for CO2.... Using a lighter valve spring will allow you to use a slightly lighter hammer spring to get the same FPE.... However, it will likely give you a narrower usable pressure range between fill and refill for the same ES in your bell-curve.... If you are looking for large gains, I don't think the valve spring is the place to look....
