I finally got around to trying out my new NOE Mould today.... I used 2% tin at over 800*F, and preheated the mould.... After just a few throwaways, it got up to temperature and started casting perfectly.... I did over 270 bullets, and only threw out about 25.... Here are todays production....

These are the larger of the two NOE Moulds for this design.... The smaller one was designed at 0.250" at the back of the nose, and 0.252" at the driving band, while the large one is supposed to be 0.253" and 0.255".... I measured a few, and they were spot on at the back of the nose, and about 0.001" over at the driving band.... Even so, they chambered fine in my Hatsan barrel, and fed perfectly through the magazine unsized.... There was a bit of resistance closing the side lever the last bit, and the rifling was dragging a small amount of lead aft on the driving band (the nose looked perfect), so they might be better sized to 0.254"-0.255".... Only shooting them in YOUR gun would tell you for sure.... I don't have an MRod barrel here to check them in, but they function perfectly through an MRod magazine, of course.... I chambered one in my LW barrel that I cut my own chamber in for my BRod project, and unsized it took a bit of a shove to push the bolt home.... Sized to 0.254" there was only slight resistance for the last 1/8" of bolt movement, and they looked perfect when pushed back out through the breech.... I did not test fire them in either gun (yet)....

The FN solid has a 75% Meplat and weighs 41.7 gr.... while the HP weighs 39.5 gr.... They are intended to work in a 20" or faster twist, so there is no reason they should not work in virtually all production airgun barrels that are on the larger end of the size range in .25 cal.... If you have one of the tighter barrels (eg. a TJ's .25 ACP barrel), then you will need the smaller size mould.... It's too bad that airgun barrels are not standardized, but that is the hand we are dealt, so having the moulds available in two diameters is the best option.... Fortunately, NOE's sizing system, with interchangeable bushing at less than $10 each, available every thou in diameter, makes it simple to make them fit your barrel.... I don't know which size would be best in a Green Mountain MRod barrel, but I think I have heard they are close in size to the LW, at 0.254" groove, in which case the larger one would be the place to start....
