My 1322 arrives in the mail today, and then some various bits and pieces will show up over the next few weeks to help it along...

I have every intention of keeping this build legal, but am amazed at the fpe that some people are getting from these 13XX mods. I know a handful of you have mated this air gun to a .25 barrel, this seems like an effective way to keep it <500fps.

So, what would I need, and where would I source them in Canada? I assume a modified breech/bolt would be necessary along with the barrel.

If anyone's done this build, I'd love to see your results.

This is mostly just a hobby build for plinking, but if I can get an effective non-PAL rabbit gun that would be sweet.

You're in for a lot of pumping to get close to 500 fps in a .25 cal, because of the much larger barrel volume.... To make sure you stay legal, I would do your Chrony testing with the lightest pellets you can get.... Good Luck!....

Totally. I've seen examples online of .25 @ 500fps with 10 pumps. This will be my second air gun mod, and my first time with a pumper, so I doubt I'll see anything that efficient. I'll have to see what kind of success I have in .22 before before I REALLY consider .25, but it would be nice to know that it's an option.

Well, right out of the box (minus a steel breech and scope) from Amazon.ca 1322 has about 7fpe @ 10 pumps. Way more than I thought it would, and almost as much as I'm allowed in .22 for a non-PAL. I'm going to strip it down to the valves tomorrow and see what's going on, but I'm totally confident I could push a .25 with the right setup.

Are the Canadian versions usually marked on the box or air gun?

Even with the horrendous pumping, I don't think I'll be touching a springer again any time soon. These things don't miss.

Steel breech seals better.

Interesting, no bleed valve!

It takes me 15 pumps to get 475fps with 19.91grn pellets.

On the thought of legality, what number of pumps and what weight of pellets can anyone use to determine whether or not it's legal seeing as crossman does not manufacture it in 25 calibre? One can argue that 10 pumps is the max as that's what the manufacturer uses for both 177 and 22, also the pellet weight can be argued as 25-27 grain as that's the middle weight which crossman also uses for the other calibres.

For the op's original question, you'll probably have to find someone to custom make you the barrel and maybe modify the breech (I don't think it's necessary but the probe may need to be custom made as well). I found a 1325 for sale here and jumped on it as the only one's I could find were made in the states but couldn't be shipped outside the country because he lacked the proper permits.

I've been considering the legality, especially when you always hear "THEY can test it with the lightest pellets."

This 1322 (with only a steel breech and carbine stock added) fires 14.3 grain pellets around 485 fps @ 10 pumps. Pretty sure stock it COULD fire alloy pellets at that 500 mark. The box states up to 460 fps.

I'm hoping to be able to fine-tune the power with the spring and power adjuster. Ideally I'd like to mark settings on the rifle for 2 or 3 pellet weights. I don't know if (a) this realistic, or (b) if it makes it any more legal.

Ya, I've found 2 sources for the barrel so far and neither ship to Canada. The probe will be just as tricky, but I figure I'll be able to manage it with some of the .25 bolt action air rifles on the market.

When a manufacturer certifies a gun as under 500 fps, their word governs, PROVIDE you don't modify it (such as a change in caliber, and Crosman never made a 1325).... Some airguns actually specified under 500 with a heavier pellets, I believe one of the Diana .177 springers started 10.3 gr, IIRC.... Once you start modding a gun, I think you run the risk of "THEM" testing it with whatever pellet they want, and if you have an adjustment, cranking it to the maximum.... Maybe if you only had 25 gr. pellets with you, and it was sub 500 with those, you could argue the point.... but do you really want to have to hire a lawyer to do that for you?....

Well I decided to see what some 14 grain pba would do in my 1325 and drumroll.......nothing. I tested 7 pellets and only 1 would exit the barrel and even then not fast enough to chrony, I'm thinking the pellets are too hard to conform to the rifling and there's not enough pressure to shoot them out (it requires more force to lock the bolt with these). I'll try again with more of them and a better day with the chrony later on.
