Good point, it would be a bad day! Although if I was out hunting, and they declared my carbine a pistol, even with an rpal, I'd still be in big doodoo[WHITE SMILING FACE]️, since you can only transport to and shoot at a certified gun range, as far as I know. For now I think I'll put the idea on the back burner. The whole idea of the 1322 was for ease of carrying along for grouse when deer or Moose hunting. If I decide to get a proper air rifle I think I'll go for a qb78 or 79, much cheaper to convert to hpa for cold weather.

I've started on one- not a 760, but an A.M. 77/2100. It has the same conversion issues for 13-XX, while the tube is a shade longer. Just have the holes to cut for the front grip screw and the tiny breech screw. I may omit that last and use a 13-XX breech band instead... lengthened sear slot looks like a 3 year old laid the slot out in crayon, and used a butter knife to cut it...

Hopefully test fire soon.

It works! It's still on the cup piston, and short 2100 valve.
Good pressure on the first pump. It has the original hammer spring. I went with a 13-XX hammer due to the shortened stroke the 13 series crates in the tube. I had to cut 4 coils off the hammer spring as well.
The open hammer slot creates a binding problem under the sbk breech. It distorts the tube enough to prevent the hammer from moving into the fully cocked position. I will make a flat sided washer to put into the hammer slot tomorrow. Looking forward to chronograph it as well...
Hope to have more on this soon...

That's great! Have you kept the front of the tube longer and are using the 2100 pump assembly (arm and linkage etc)?

Yes, I'm using the 2100 arm and linkage. I did not cut a hole for the front grip screw because the 2100 valve ends behind it. We'll see how it performs. I am expecting good numbers...

Sounds great! Did you end up with a breech band that holds the front of the grip frame as well as the breech?

Uh-huh.

At the factory mandated 3 pump minimum, avg 498.5 fps with the Stoeger 8.62 gr. F/T dome. Extreme spread of exactly 10 fps over ten shots. 24" 1760 bbl aboard the sbk with a by me ice maker poly tubing transfer port sleeve. If I grin any harder the top of my head is gonna fall off.

I had trouble getting 495 at ten pumps out of the stock air master...

Inner debate about flat topping the piston and valve...

From what I'm seeing so far, she'll probably max out at very low 700's before she starts retaining air.

I don't think I'm far off coil bind on the hammer spring with the current set up.

That 2100 valve is roughly 60% the volume of a 13-XX valve. I have a 2200 laying around here somewhere. Stem seal seat on it is shot. Better add a new 2200 valve to the bucket list...

Didn't see this. I'm here on phone and don't get full screens.
The breech band screws into tapped holes in the sides of the trigger guard frame. There is a set screw in the top of the band to exert downward pressure against the top of the breech...

That's a great idea, is that custom made or something you found somewhere?

They were custom made- and this is almost 10 years ago- from a design by Bob Sterne. Pretty sure I bought my pair from Derek Vineyard. I'm not sure any one is making them now- it's been a long time since I've seen any around.

Wow, yeah Bob Sterne is quite the great inventor! Too bad no one is making them. Would be great to find an old 2100/2200 and convert as you are doing.
