Hello Gentlemen,

I have a 9 year old boy, and I want to see if shooting is for him. I am more or less looking for an affordable air rifle with an automatic safety for some added insurance he won't accidently discharge it. I would just get him a grizzly scout from Princess Auto, but no safety.

Looking for some advice for a air rifle <495 FPS (would prefer something at the limit), with automatic safety that a kid can operate. I figure there are tons of guys here using air rifles that I never even heard of, and could someone may lead me on to something.

This is a, smaller, lightweight pump rifle. Easy to pump . Pellets are single loading only. BBs are preloaded but I do not suggest bbs thru
a rifled barrel. The safety come on automatically as you pump .
Best price may be ReplicaAirguns ($99.00) as a kit with shooting glasses, a cheap scope, small amount of bbs and pellets to start you.
That site also shows same rifle at $145.00 without the extras. I told them about this long ago but not corrected.
I did a small review a few months ago on this forum.Other reviews on Youtube.

Started the nephews on a Ruger Explorer Youth... nice enough little gun, safety automatically goes on when cocked.
- Have since moved on to a Daisy 853
