Hello all; my uncle asked me about pellets for some old pellet guns his uncle had, he thinks there German, he is sure about the caliber. Is there anywhere to get something like that? I'll post more info when I get it. Thanks.

Those rifles are most likely .177. I have never slugged a .177's bore, but it is quite likely, it is about .175", giving compression & rifling engraving to the skirt and nose.

Try one and it if does not chamber, then it is too oversize. I have never heard of a .175 caliber air rifle, nor .175 calibre pellets.

The old guns may be BB guns.. I was intrigued with the idea of 0.175 cal so did some digging and found a few articles on the subject.
Here is one from Airgun depot that sheds some light on the 0.175 cal.

If your relative's guns are in fact pellet guns*rather than BB* perhaps try shooting some lead BBs and see how it does.

Reading over this Yes if a caliber to rifle is deemed .175 it's Bb other then that 4.5mm is deemed .177. Now on the. 177/4.5mm head size to bore deems everything in pared to the manufacturer's bbl rifling whether it be 8 or 12 rifling makes a difference upon head sizing. Just aspects to consider before spewing off.

Regards
