I'm looking to try the crosman 7.4gr was cutters in my crosman Optimus .177 495fps rifle. Has anyone tried these pellets in this gun? Mine doesn't seem to like pellets that are tight in the breech like the premiere hollow points. Are these pellets tight? And also, how accurate are they in other guns you tried. Or do you recommend any other pellets. If you need any additional information feel free to ask.

Thank you

Work fine in my Vantage. And I don't find them tight. As for groupings haven't really shot them far, like 30ft and was getting like nickle size groupings. Then again not much of a super tight group person.

My favorite plinking pellets is the H&N Sport, $7.50/500
if you want to try different head diameter, you'd have to go up the the "Match" grade

My detuned Optimus also does well with the H&N Sport. Twenty yard groups are around 1/2" ctc for 5-shots. The JSB Exact 8.44gr shoot well too.

Has anyone tried the 7gr rws wad cutters? On pyramid air's review of the Optimus it didn't like the domed rws pellets. Would it not like these pellets to?

I've just returned to target pistol, so for what it's worth... with my Crosman 2300t, at 8m, I can achieve a 5 shot group of 25mm c/c with the RWS 7gr and 8.2gr Meisterkugeln. With the Crosman wadcutters that that expands to 40mm. The Crosmans need to be washed where as the RWS seem very clean, and not much more $$. Not sure if this relates to your rifle...
