If you planning on tuning or fooling around with 22xx, or 13xx. Its wise to get a chrony.

If you do ANY mods to a 13XX, YOU are then responsible for insuring the gun does not exceed PAL specifications....

I have two, non-pal 2289's, identical except for barrel length and was surprised to discover that the 14" barrel consistently shoots about 3fps faster than the 24" barrel. Go figure.
(Actually it makes sense: just more drag on the pellet. I suspect the results would be different without the bleed holes.)

Depending on caliber what I found is an 18" barrel is the most efficient! (On a mod gun)As long as you have a PAL!

You mean "R-PAL"!?!?
The 13XX's & 2289's are deadly weapons of mass destruction (ie-"pistols") in they eyes of the law!
I believe Charlie Brown put it best when he said, "Sigh..."

Maybe I've been modding these things for too long. All 13XX, 22XX basically share the same parts! Yes ones a pump gun, and ones a C02, (tube size etc) but all the rest is the same. JUST put on the right tube!. 2240, 2250, 2260 the same? Yes, if you mod put on the right tube, to keep it PAL!
Pretty simple! If worried use a 2100, 2200 tube etc, etc, etc!!!!!

Hi jwg,
You're right and I agree. Your points are logical and grounded in common sense. Which is exactly why our legal system would take issue them. (Ha.)
Should the situation ever arise, you'd likely be able to mount a successful legal defence. Unfortunately, by the time you explained all of that to the police, crown, & judge you'd be out ten grand (more...?) in legal fees.
(PS-In case there's any confusion, the "sigh" was directed at the absurdity of the law and not your comments!)
Cheers.

Thanks, but just to clarify, what I was saying if one has a PAL then mod your gun within those limits. Yes its crazy but tubes do dictates what is a PAL gun or a RPAL gun even though all other parts are the same! And no, if you know the rules have a PAL/ RPAL and your gun falls within those rules there are no problems!!
"10 grand or more" is a little excessive. Hey, just saying, if people are legal no probulems should arrive! Look at Bob, he's made some of the most amazing custom guns! All within the limits! No issues!!

Indeed, Bob is an epic genius.
(It was his Milli-Pumper that first sparked my interest in air rifles.)
