Hi everyone
The Umarex HPP being discontinued finding clips at a reasonable price on the Canadian market is nearly impossible. All the info I could find on the web was that the HPP clips will fit the Daisy Powerline 5501but not the other way around.

Michael Kaye's Replica airgun video review of the Daisy 5501 presented both clips and guns side by side and that's where I saw that the Daisy clips were nearly identical and would probably fit the HPP...with minor plastic surgery.
One can also find videos on the web of the Daisy 5501 being striped apart and comparing it to the Umarex HPP you can easily see that both guns are the same internally with only minor cosmetic and functionality differences.
Now convinced that the Daisy clips could be modified to fit the HPP I ordered a pair of clips from Amazon USA…within 30 seconds of receiving them I knew it could be done and here’s how I did it:
Let’s first look at both clips side by side. The stick itself are identical. Bottom part are different. The Daisy has two tabs instead of a single center one for the HPP. Also notice the thicker plastic sides and the strait versus notched backside on the Daisy part.

To separate the stick from the bottom you will have to pry and push the small tab on the stick from under the bottom part.
I hope the next two pictures are clear enough…It shows what is actually preventing the Daisy part to fit the HPP. The main frame of the HPP is too wide and the front back plate needs to be cut out. The picture on the right is what the Daisy part should look like after the plastic surgery. Back plate cut out, sides thinned down and tabs cut out.

And…Voilà! The modified Daisy clips works perfectly! The difference in height is more obvious in this picture as is the slightly more polished plastic of the Daisy clips. In this picture the C02 knob is not screwed all the way in. With a C02cartridge in place the knob sticks out only 3mm. Not a big deal if the alternative is no spare mags at all!

I hope this post will be helpful to others who might have an HPP currently being used as a paperweight for lack of spare mags…
Thank you

Yeager,

Nice work!

Very disappointing when parts are no longer available, so any ideas to keep these things working is great!

Cheers!
