I have a original dovetail dot sight coming on the way which bought from eBay and shipped from China. Actually not bought from this gun, but looks it will fits well on it ~

The extender is a great idea ! Because I have some concern to adding a dot sight to the P17 will affect the cocking action... but it looks blocking the 'hammer' lever lock?! And will it bring too much force on the connections on the frame (4 screws)?

Both my P17's have Riorand red/green dot's in 11mm to go right on the pistol. They work very well for $29.99. They do not affect the pumping action.

Just love all the different configuration for sights. Image

Here's mine so far. Waiting for small Picatinny rail to mount laser. These lasers are okay for indoor only. Need a little boost to get them to run over our Cdn 5mw limit.
-ohhunt 11mm to 20mm Picatinny
-Tactical Mini Holographic Red Dot Reflex
-Picatinny Rail For Laser
-Tactical Red laser Sight

From the maker of the slide extender:

Quote:
My extender does not block the hammer, there is more than enough room to open and close the gun, working the hammer. No problem with the force on the screws, I have shot 100's of pellets and it is very sturdy.

From the YouTube video and pictures from other angle (the eagle eye angle), I see there is really enough room to release the lock~

Thanks ~

I'm right handed and I just reach across with my left hand and poke my index finger down on the lock to release it and in the same motion slide my hand back a bit to grab the extension and open the gun. Slick as shyt.

Lubrications in your local CT:

1- white lithium grease spray can. Easy to use on any where hard to reach. But for the P17, maybe you need to spray on the finger tip and apply on the piston then ?!

2- Moly ! But on the reviews, someone mentioned that it contains chemicals that will harm the rubber materials (o rings)?! Anyone chime in to confirm it's true or false?

This is the oil that TCooper has been advocating which can be found in CT. It is 30W-ND. I have been using it on my P17 and has shot over 15 tins with no problems.

I would recommend this one.

I know that is a good thing, but the problem is where to get it.

Maybe you can share a little to mail to me using a small plastic bag something?

I found there is only one W30 oil in CT, but it didn't say it's ND. And the ND oil you refered, did it mentioned it's W30? From the size it looks not the W30 oil I found in CT's website...

That's the problem I met. The info was missing or mixing for these products. And very hard to find one that just 100% matched we are talking about...

Maybe the products out there are all good and usable in our applications. However I am not the professional to determine this. (I just read the Wikipedia this morning to try to understand what's Moly and why we can use it in this applications...)

Here's a pic of the oil that I purchased from CT; it does say 'SAE 30' and 'Non-Detergent'. The CT web site will tell you which location have it on stock.
