You try hitting the back of the gun with a block of wood? With the piercing knob cap off?

If it’s empty can you drill into the bottom of it and pull it out that way? If the drill bit won’t hold then stick a hook of sorts into the hole and pull.

The glue was applied to the end ... no way it caused this.

Just put a screw in it and give a good pull with pliers. My suggestion is a 1/8" drill bit and drive a #8 or #10 screw in it. Worse comes to worse you can put a puller on it.

That did it ... drilled a 1/8" hole and used a #8 screw and pliers to pull it out.
It was really stuck and never would have come out any other way.

They usually get stuck when you shoot right to empty...it's the piercing pin that is stuck in the cartridge. Situation gets aggravated when folks switch to a heavier striker spring.

Simplest way to keep it from happening again is to stop shooting it when you notice the power dropping and change the cartridge.

Noted ...

Considering how long this model has been out, I wonder why a provision was never added to help remove a stuck cylinder.
Like a slot on the side to put a rod in to push it out perhaps ...

Gippeto's theory makes sense. I did get lucky once by pointing cocked gun to ground and pulling the trigger. It was enough to get the cart loose. May have just gotten lucky that day, I've since had to do the screw trick as well.

I noticed that the 2240 actually uses the co2 wisely... while you noticed the fps drops, actually it will drop a lot suddenly, then you should change the cartridge as the remained co2 won't be enough to shoot 5 to 10 shots, and this 5 shots won't hit your target and became useless and wasting your pellets... so why not just change it to avoid pellet jam or cartridge jam (actually it's the first time I heard about it ~ [emoji16])
