My P17 seems to like the 8.44gr JSB Exact (4.52mm) but unfortunately these pellets are hit & miss for head size. The examples that are 4.50 to 4.52 shoot great but sometimes I get bad tins with only 4.45 to 4.47mm pellets.

The old Crosman Premier Lights (7.9gr) shot well from my P3 but I haven't tried the current production of this pellet in my P17.

RWS Hobby, Meisters, and H&N wadcutters all shoot okay but not better than the Exacts, in my pistol. I still have to try some H&N Field Target Trophy or the Daystate Kaiser pellets.

What shoots accurately in your P17???

In mine, the RWS Hobby are the best, closely followed by Crosman Premier Match (wadcutters) and JSB Exact RS 7.33 gr. domed.

I have some remained RWS hobby which is good as same in my P17. However it can't fit into my HW40. So I don't think I will buy it again...

I am wait for the green tin and yellow tin of JSBs. hope I can find one fits both...

I did a bit more testing today to find my "favourite pellet". All shooting was indoors from 20 yards with a sandbag rest and a 9 power Leapers scope. I switched back to the red dot before taking the pics.

20 Yards - 5-shot groups ctc
JSB Exact - .55, .69, .55 -- ave = .60"
Cros Premier HP - .66, .54, .77 -- ave = .66"
Stoeger Match - .70, .69, .46 -- ave = .62"
RWS Hobby - .88, .66, .72 -- ave = .75"

NOTES:
- The CPHP were from a batch that I had previously sorted by head size. The pellets used for the test were .177" across the head.
- The .88" Hobby group included the one obvious flyer. Without the flyer the group would have been .66" and the average at .68"
