I know pellets are heavy,

Just wondering if anyone had any tips on buying 1 or 2 tins of pellets at a time and have they made it work?

I live about 10 mins outside of Waterloo, Ontario.

I just purchased a Hammerli 850, and need to source some pellets that it likes.

The cphp from Canadian tire hasn't been that satisfying (problems cycling the magazine) and the crosman round pellets from Amazon.ca are the same.

It doesn't seem to like pellets that have a flat skirt. The probe seems to like loading 'conical' skirted pellets much better.

I checked one cdn website for jsb's, but minimum shipping seems to be about $18. The tin of pellets I was interested in was $20.

Going to call local gun store and see if they stock jsb on Monday.

Peter

Amazon prime perhaps if you can find a pellet you like there. The only real solution is to buy in bulk to make shipping worth it. I believe canadashooting supply has a special on right now. All orders $149 or more have free shipping.

For JSB pellets , our forum store is a very good choice. Cheap price, fast and cheap shipping too especially you are in around GTA area.

You don't only shoot one gun, right, maybe you can buy some for your other guns.

IMO, to make the shipping worth, maybe 5 tins of pellets in a time is the best bet... And usually in some stores, buy 5 in a time will give you some special promotion. I.e. AGS has buy 5 and one tin with the lowest price tin to be free now.

Didn't go Amazon for pellets for a long time... Less choices, not very good price. Some European pellets has nonsense prices and ship time...

Yeah I have 3 air rifles presently.

Daisy 953 cup mod. I'm happy with the rws hobbies for that, and the local store usually carries them. I think I got them last time for $8/500

Crosman 760 - rifled barrel is on order, haven't found anything that it likes for the stock smooth bore rifle, my son likes the size and feel of it.

New to me detuned 850...it has magazine feeding issues with the flat skirted pellets it seems...being detuned, it probably would do better with lighter. 22 pellets

Best bet is to see if Shooters choice in Waterloo has jsb pellets on the shelf in .22 and try growing through the 14-15 grain ones.

Maybe I'll see if rws hobbies might work as well.

Seems like I end up ordering most of my pellets through Nikonos (Cible target Canada, on Ebay). Is shipping is quite reasonable, better if you buy a few sleeves at the time.

If you want to try some different pellets, you should look for the "sampler" packs.

Great price and shipping charges! A very good place for H&N pellets. Just hopping the owner will carry other brand names~ [emoji16]

And should be fast delivery to Toronto too as it ships from Quebec not the west coast ~

New comers should be made aware that Dan, airgunforum store, has a flat rate shipping of $40 on his website. However he will refund the difference after he has shipped.

X2 ~

And Dan also has some good RWS too ~

And for Crosmans, go to local CanTire or Princess Auto, no need to wait for shipping and maybe better price too ~

Tried stoeger x-sport from shooters choice in Waterloo.

Cheap, but my hammerli doesn't like them toonie size group at 11m. Wadcutters are difficult to load in the hammerli mag, but cycling the bolt is way better than the crosman ones.

Found h&n excite hammer on Amazon as an addon item so I bought 3 tins. Hoping they do the trick. $9/250 shipping included...

If not, will have 2 tins to sell locally... [emoji853]

What number of tins have you found to be the sweet spot of ordering from Dan? - shipping within Ontario....
