After about 3000-3500 shots I have noticed a significant drop in power with my tx200 which is tuned with a vortek 12fpe kit. When the kit was first installed it shot hot. Around 850 fps with a ~8.2 gr pellet or 13 fpe. Now it shoot around 590-600 fps and That after adding a washer. Good for punching paper but not what I originally bought the kit for. I was expecting a much higher shot count before the power sliding down. Is this normal? Perhaps order a Maccari spring/kit instead?

850fps is about right that's what it should be doing
you have a vortek kit in it and it lost that much power that's not right
did you check your piston seal and your breach seal ?

I did check the piston and breech seal. All good there. It's definitely the spring. Not that it was difficult before but now cocking the gun is super easy. I've been reading other experiences and this is not uncommon. Great. I'm now trying to decide whether I should just order 5 springs at a time and hope a few last 10,000 or so shots.

I'm surprised too. Maybe I got a bad one. I hope this is the case. I do not want to be replacing a spring every 3-4 months. Once a year is ok. Thankfully the tx200 has got to be the easiest ag to work on. Time to go order more springs.

Can't be coincidence. I've done the only option I have right now. I order 3 more 12 fpe and one HO spring from vortek. They got me for a bit longer. If these fail too soon I will send my tx out for a real tune by a pro.

since you ordered another spring from them did you happen to mention
your situation to them in regards to how short of a time you've had it installed and its failed ?
curious to hear what they would have said

I have been debating whether to share my experience with vortex. One incident I read they offered a 40% discount on a new kit. Not spring. A kit. Gee thanks. I understand at time parts can fail prematurely. It’s a $20 part. Really not a big deal. However repeated occurrences will force me away from the brand. I will most likely write vortex as it is as much as a benefit to them as myself.

I can only give you hearsay .But it was inferred there was no warranty on the spring .
