They’re advertised as being simply 4.5mm so there could be a range of actual sizes varying from likely 4.4x to 4.5x.

It looks RWS doesn't like to intendedly make different sized pellets. So, did you try the rifle R10, I think they will be more strictly choosed to meet the 8.2g and 4.50mm size.

Your experiment result is unexpected but looks reasonable... We all say in a short range, pellet choices won't make much difference, however it DID make some difference... I have been using Crosmans since the very beginning before I really started to use other brands... And the reputations between pellet to pellet is really true. I found this by my own experience and realized it again not long ago when I come back to shoot some Crosmans... The accuracy and POI changes did happen with the same gun shooting the targets at the same ( short indoor) range...

It's just like once you shoot a PCP, you can't come back?! Never own a PCP yet, I can't tell ~ maybe is just ppl can't admit they spent that much money but didn't get the good stuff as expected?! lol ~ just kidding, don't shoot me ~ [emoji27]

Crosman pellets are still good ~ the very cheap price makes it a very good choice to plinking and shoot bigger objects, like pop cans ~ just don't use them to shoot bullseye or turkey's eye...
