A look at a couple I've been trying over the past week or so:

Image

H&N .22 Silver Point 21 gr. Pellet at left was recovered from a 1 L paint can at 25 yds. Unfired same at right. M/V 720 fps. I have not seen a pellet expand this well before. Close to equalling the 29 gr CCI c/b cap here...
:P

Results of 10 them at 15 yds fired from my pcp'd AR-2078. I count 8 of them landing on the target. Not quite hunting accurate- that's a 2 inch bull.

I had been sort of hoping that they would be the equal of the old box 14.3 gr .22 F/T die #2 domes...

That's 5 at 25 yds out of a home built pumper with a 24" 17-60 bbl aboard. I suppose I shouldn't blame the pellet too much- a lot of that grouping is wind dispersion. I was dealing with 35-50kph gusts today, but still, that flyer at lower center really rankles. I can't seem to get rid of that one in five fler with this pellet in that particular rifle. However, my 586 really likes them, so it's not a total loss. I think that 24" bbl is due for a cleaning, now that I think about it.... there's been 1500 to2000 pellets through it since last clean, and some of those cheap asian pellets were actually kinda dirty...

Wow that's a good amount of shooting you've been getting in!
That is some nice mushrooming on that pellet.

Doc - have you thought of or tried moly spraying the pellets? I tried that in my .25 Condor with
the cast bullets as I thought it might eliminate an lead fouling. They were quite accurate out to
55 yards but I have not done more than a cursory testing as of yet. We're in the middle of
attempting to get our small bore range OK's for up to .30cal. The larger guns will have to shoot
on the regular rifle range. Apparently, the CFO has to get involved.

Hmmm...never heard of that. I think I'll try it.
