Today I followed a nice simple short YouTube video to redo the trigger adjustment for my HW45...

https://youtu.be/JHNPpGJSvgE

After job done and fine tuned for my own favor and back to the targets, I noticed that the POI of the gun went up for about 3 inches!!

Target is about 8 meters out and before the adjustment, as I don't have a good knowledge about how this trigger works and just follow the manual to make adjustment then I finally and simply adjusted it as a single stage trigger with a lighter pull... And right now it's back to 2 stages and with real adjustment on the pull weight...

I am just wondering this changes actually changed how I shoot the gun and can change the POI so greatly?!

POI is probably just due to you're used to the old setup that your anticipating the shot. Because you expect it to be longer but since you made the trigger lighter, that it breaks before you're ready.

And if it's a steady group, I would just adjust the sights.

I adjusted the sight to turn it down a round and looks fine then... but didn't have more time to shoot it then...

Looks like I am having a new gun again ~

The springers are just so sensitive? I remember I took a long time to setup the trigger when the gun arrived, then take another long time to make friends with my HW45 and likely I will have to start over ~ Hopefully my previous experience will still work this time ~

That's your issue. Feels like a new gun and gotta get used to it. Springers are like taming unicorns. I put a sock under mine and instant change in POI. Removed it, closer to the bull. Got fed up and put it away.

Made about another 30 or 40 shots, and another half turn to set down the rear sight again, it starts to getting back to the track now ~

So fast the 'new' gun became a used again... [emoji16]

Time to put down my 2240, and get more practice and maybe a little more fine tunes for my HW45 in the coming days ~

It looks I will never be a good shooter as I got more than one gun.... lol

That's my problem. When I shoot Friday nights. I'm always using a different gun. This year I must have used 5 guns with various optics.

One week Ill do good, next week be bad. Wasn't till I started using just 1 setup, that I seen improvement.

Funny I cannot make a single hole tight group. Yet I can win matches for some reason.

Sometimes they have bad days, sometimes I just have fluke days. Last 6 matches I won 3. Our 10X ring is the size of a fist. And we shoot various ranges and various shooting positions. From 3 to 15Y, Left hand, right hand, left hand supported, 2 handed supported, standing, kneeling, prone. And all timed.

Friday I came first. Scored a 240 on the 1st stage ( 3 Y) dropped 3 points on the 2nd stage ( 7 Y ) scored a 240 on the 3rd stage at 10 Y, forth stage I dropped 14 points. The standing and prone stage at 15. For a 943/960.

What I shoot doesn't require laser accuracy. But requires some skill, because under pressure and timed.

But the principal is, wasn't doing good, flip flopping guns all the time. Esp when they were different grips or type of actions. 1911, Glock, Revolver, Grand Power, Ruger.

....3 yards? Did you need to zero your sights?! [emoji29]

In this distance, usually I will choose to use knife not guns ~ [emoji16][emoji16]

I thought you guyd doing 30 yards, 50 yards and 100yards ~ lol

Just the matches I do. It's based on the Police Qualification. But make fun all you want. When you shooting 6 rounds in 8 seconds with your left hand only, 6 shots right hand only in 8 seconds, or shoot 6 left hand, reload, shoot 6 right hand in 15 seconds. A few people will miss the 10X. Or fumble a reload, and rush. Because they don't do well timed, or rushed. It's a whole different ball game when your timed and rushed.

Best Ive done was a 949/960.

Actually I can shoot a pistol at 100Y with a 5 out of 6 hit ratio. We used to have 50M matches, till the CFO prevented us from shooting pistols on the rifle range so no longer can do that.

But back to your original issue. Just gotta get used to the new trigger.

I guess that's what it is, huh? Just shoot more when you change something? Have to re-figure out the rifle. Having the same problem with the Benjamin now that I put the nitro piston in.

Yep! A sock or a trigger adjustment will change that a lot and you replaced the power plant.... It's definitely a NEW gun then!
