so, i was wondering if there would be a way to test the power of a 1322 without a chronograph. I found most people get around 450ish fps with regular 14 grain pellets, so i wanted to find out if it's got the same power, since i chronographed it once (someone else's crony since i don't have one) and it was shooting a little low (350 fps) but i don't remember what pellets i was using... also may have accidentally put the transfer port in upside down...

350fps must be something wrong or.... You didn't pump it correctly and enough? It looks just 3 or 4 pumps to make this number....

Above 400 should be a must, 450ish is correct... Usually ppl will do some mods that would bring up tbe number a bit....

To my experience, my 1322 just hits hard... However I am going to transfer my stuff from my 1322 to the 2240... And will get a new break barrel to replace the 1322, the MULTI pump just too painful in pumping ~ lol

How many pumps did you use to attain the 350 fps?

I don't have chrony, but I believe the minimal 3 pumps to 5 can reach that I number... I remember I read some info before... Maybe you can try to Google this...

A 1322 is a gutless wonder in usual condition
10 pumps might get you to 400fps with 14.3gr pellets

X2, get a flat top set up, longer barrel, and a chrony!

Good advice! Though mine was around 450-460fps stock at 10 so I wouldn't call it gutless. Like the op mentioned he may have gotten the transfer port upside down or something misaligned.

The 13-XX series was re-tooled by the factory almost 3 years ago now, and the stock 13-22 will break 450 in ten pumps.

The valve bleed vent hole is gone now and good riddance. The 13-77 appears to be throttled now by a smaller dia. transfer port, and it looks like they've done away with the plate washer.

Plastic breeches are still easily tearable at the front retaining screw, and the new pump handle has a sharp pinch zone. Still a value at under 100 bucks.

Two best mods are the flat top piston and steel breech kit. Getting into these things without a chronograph available are really sort of pointless though. For the 130 or so for a basic chronograph, it's easy to find out how and what you are doing.

Doc, what retooling was done? Are they worth a second look these days?
Cheers

Hi Walter

Tubes and valves were almost certainly remachined tooling. Thread indexing on the valve halves has really improved. Roll stamping is a lot sharper too.
