Thanks to all....turns out an industrial supply company in town can bring me in a supply of Loctite Moly Paste for $85.00....Moly content is stated at over 60% according to the chemical makeup report of this product...good enough...

Chevota: yes I've heard of Tungsten Disulphide and I'd switch from moly if I could find that stuff but good luck with that here..some people gave me puzzled looks when I mentioned Moly......I could imagine if I was asking for Tungsten Disulphide. I too would prefer to mix my own concoction of lubes but finding the powder here would be difficult..except for.Graphite that I can get anywhere in town....That black spring tar for the barrel bolt may work well due to its "stickiness" I think I have some around here somewhere...seems to me.....

Will they not ship it to you via the link I posted?
I saw moly: amazon.ca/dp/B000KOW2QG lotta $ but for 6oz you could prolly sell most of it and it'll end up free.

Tungsten: everychina.com/buy/c-z1400c47/sell-tungsten_powder.html
But I bought from Badfish once and it took like two months to get it. Slow boat from china.... So far that link I gave you earlier is the best source for me.

Got this at Canadian tire.

6 bucks or something.

Looks very much like the one I got from Maccari, but much cheaper.

It's cheaper because it contains not much moly.

I have emailed Jet-Lube Canada to ask the Moly content of MP-50 the reply said 50%.... so it is probably a similar product to Loctite 8700....

I looked up the two Loctite products and got the following from the MSDS and Loctite TDS sheets....

Loctite 8700.... % Moly = 48-52% (per MIL-PRF-83483).... Smooth gray paste.... SG = 1.4.... Flash point 93*C.... Petrolatum Balance (48-52%)....

Loctite 8012.... % Moly = 65% (per Loctite info).... Dark gray paste (NGLI Class 2).... SG = 1.9.... Flash point 160*C.... Petroleum products 2-10% ?....

The "K" coefficient on steel (0.27 without lubrication) is 0.13 for Loctite 8700 and 0.11 for Loctite 8012.... This means you get greater clamping force for the same bolt torque (or need less ft.lb of torgue to get the same axial load) with the higher moly content of 8012....

I can buy this moly here in TBay for around $90.00 for 16 oz....and I guess by the time I pay for shipping elsewhere I might as well just buy it here...I guess its worth it since there are also other uses for moly...plus this stuff is 65% as previously noted....https://www.fastenal.com/products/details/0150932

Is now a good time to tell you I have several pounds of Moly at work and I'm basically the only the guy that uses it? It's not pure but if I had to guess it's 90+% and comes in aerosol cans. Pretty neat stuff but I think it's like $70 a can. Spray on, then heat to bake off whatever oil and it's dry lubed and ready to go. Or use it as intended with the oil in it.
I also had a can clog up on me so I bled it out and salvaged the powder, which has been sitting in a drawer for > a year. I spoze I could send it to you...
