Looking into pcp rifle and curious if a standard portable air compressor can be used to charge the gun? So long as it has enough pressure to fill it

The 90 psi or so generated by most common standard compressors is no where near enough to get a pcp up to fill pressure.
Look around on here for yong heng compressor....

I shoot my PCP's from 3000psi down to around 1000psi so even if you get a high power 200psi compressor you'll still be way underpowered.

You can’t buy a single airgun for everything. Golfers use many different clubs, airgunners need more than one gun

You can get a PCP hand pump for under 100$ CAD.

There is zero airgun clubs in NS. There are rifle clubs with some airgun shooters. I know mine has some shooters, by seeing the airgun pellets stuck in the back stop. But I know they don't have a compressor on site or night. That in Valley.

There another in Dartmouth that has a airgun night. But I never remember them having a compressor. Plus with one night couple hours. Wouldn't be able to get tank filled.

Paintball places will fill your tank for cheap.

Pumps are a PITA :ANAL: I'll sell you mine for cheap

I find hand pumps great for such guns as the Chief or Maximus or the StormRider, or the PP700sa pistol I've got coming. These are super easy to fill with a hand pump. Anything larger like the Marauder or my Qb78Dpcp with the 13ci tank are a lot more work, but if they are regulated then it's no trouble either cause you don't need to fill to the full 3000psi. Otherwise bigger tubed guns are much more fun with a compressor, or as Doc Gadget mentioned, just buy a tank and get it filled at the paintball store.

But for those entry level guns, pumping is a great cheap choice and is not much work even for an out of shape guy like me :D
