And I think the open sights on the ARs are high... Is that possible ppl would flip it down to use open sight then flip it up for the red dot? ( Actually the open sight can be flipped around too, right?)

Purpose of this sight is a back up compact red dot. Flip down for when not in use. For 3 guns and maybe defense. But I doubt anyone would put a cheap sight on a defense pistol. If you look at 3 gun rifles, you will find someone piggy backs reddots to scopes or offsets reddots or irons. Some found higher you mount the sight the bore axis gets messed up. So figuring ways of mounting them lower/ But purpose is So they can quickly transition from scope to reddot to engage closer or further targets.

Maybe they wanted to make a low profile non snagging sight. Meaning they can turn the corner faster without worrying about hitting their sight mounted on the side off the wall or post. In speed shooting, speed is everything.

Airsoft 3 gun and IPSC is popular in China and Japan due to their strict gun laws.

Also depends on the AR sights. Because there are fixed, detachable fixed, folding, offset etc. Hidden gas blocks, railed mounted front, barrel mounted fixed front sights. Gas block mounted front sights. List goes on.

The 2 optics show in this thread would be too low to mount on Any AR. You couldn't squish your face down enough to get a good cheek weld. plus sights would still get in the way. You would need to run a riser. They're mounted high because the buffer tube and the inline design. No way of making a drop down stock. The method is called co witness. Meaning that you can use the irons and the reddot at the same time, or encase of a optic failure you still got your iron sights. Normally called back up iron sights. Normally also not effecting your muscle memory.

It says for airsoft ~ but I found the major problem is it looks designed for Glock and one other system I don't know and not likely an universal dot sight...

Of course you can use picatinny rail but then you won't get it as low as showed on the picture and you will lost the the second advantage that while you fold down and turn off the dot sight, it can act as a spare open sight ( it has notch and blade)...

A must for me is a way to ajust the light. I have one small sight like the ops original post and I hate it. It is fine for outside but indoors it is so bright it blocks the entire target I am trying to hit. No way to ajust brightness. I have a (UUQ® Tactical Holographic Red Green Reflex Scope Sight 4 Reticles) from amazon and it is my favorite. Second is (RioRand Tactical 4 Reticle Red Dot Open Reflex Sight with Weaver-Picatinny Rail Mount). I have 4 of these in 22mm and 11mm. These from Amazon as well. CHEERS!

well my little mini dot sight came in already. 2.5 weeks from china --that's pretty good I,d say. very nice lil thing. it came with a nice solid box-- it had a battery already in it and a brand new extra battery in a package.-- cleaning cloth -instructions --2 allen keys and a plastic cover over it. feels good and solid. has high and low setting and it is bright. I,ll try and get a chance to use it this weekend.
