How come Crosman figured out how to build a .22 cal pellet revolver replica of the Colt Peacemaker (the Model SA 6) in 1959. Yet almost 60 years later Umarex can not figure out how to build a .22 cal pellet version of its popular Colt Peacemaker.

I'm guessing since so many European countries have energy restrictions as opposed to velocity restrictions, they could not make a 0.22" repeater with a decent velocity that would have a sufficiently large market. That being said, it cannot be too difficult to convert one by replacing the barrel and drilling out the cartridges.

In reply to PZAM, has anyone tried to convert a Umarex Colt CO2 pellet Peacemaker from .177 to .22?

Before Umarex came out with the airsoft Smoke Wagon, I understand people were converting .177 steel BB Peacemakers into 6mm airsoft, and .40 cal. paintball.

Or does anyone know of someone that would be able to attempt the conversion? I like my .22 cal Crosman SA 6, but a more modern shell loading version would be nice.

Maybe if people start converting .177 pellet Peacemakers into .22 cal, Umarex would consider producing a .22 version. And who know where it would go from there.

I think one of the people that was doing the paintball conversion was a YouTuber named Bill that posts as "CCMachinist".
