Just got my new Diana 34 Premium today and I am quite pleased with it so far. It has a fairly smooth shot cycle for a new rifle and the stock is nice. I had decided to spend my Christmas gift money on a new gun this year and was considering the R9 and the 34 Premium I ended up ordering the Beeman R9 as I already owned a Diana 48 and P1000 and wanted to give the Beeman a try as I did not own any Beenan rifles. Unfortunately after receiving the R9 I discovered that I do not “fit” the R9. I simply could not line my eye up with the sights because of the extremely high raised cheek pad on the stock. Thankfully the fine folks at Canada Shooting Supply agreed to exchange the R9 for the 34 Premium. After I get some more time with the 34 Premium I will do a short review with crony numbers. I tried to post a pic of the gun but the file is too large.

I’ve never owned a German rifle . If I were to start that would be the first . Just a classic . What caliber do you chose ?

I already have a Model 48 in .177 so I decided to go .22 with the 34. Probably would be better to have the 48 in .22 and the 34 in .177 but I bought the 48 over 30yrs ago and .22 was not very popular at that time.

I wonder if the Beeman version has a higher cheek rest to help w/ scopes? I can use the open sights on my HW95 just fine but like a lot of high end guns I think they expect you to use scope. Back in the day Beeman especially wanted you to buy a scope b/c they sold scopes which they claimed were the only ones that would work, and they were expensive.
Be sure and slug and visually inspect the bore of that Diana, remember the pix in the guide I sent?
