Just wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience with it? It’s priced between a Beeman P17 and a HW40.

I remember we talked about this one before ~ but looks ppl who bought it didn't give it a very good review score... Maybe it's not cheap as the P17 and not as good as the HW40.....

And just found that my local CT store has it and provided 5 years warranty that can be redeemed in any CT store which looks good....

I have one, I love it but it needed some work to be shootable. There were some issues with QC: torn breech oring because barrel end was rough, metal shavings in the piston grooves (under the orings  ), rear sight windage screw too loose to hold its position, very sharp edges on the rear of the grip (you know, where the tender skin between your index and thumb is positionned?). Ah, and I had to re-crown it too. All of that and a bit more is fixed now, and I enjoy it as much as my P17.

You knew it is a re-skinned P17? Inside parts are identical and exchangeable, and all the mods that apply to the P17 can be done to the XP4. Accuracy is on par with the P17, as is power. It's a different ergonomy though, it's a bit rounder and the grip is a bit smaller than the P17, but very comfy, and weight is about the same. If you're a handyguy, I'd say get one, but expect to have to put a little work in it.

Just wondered, seeing how a P17 sells for $60, and the HW40 sells for $280, if the XP4 at $140, 2.5 times the price of a P17, if the quality was higher seeing how it comes in the middle of the price range. Consensus seems to be it's just a P17 with a different look.
