Depends how fat your fingers are. You need enough clearance to drop the pellet in the breech easily. If your scope is less than 32mm objective, it should clear the barrel even with low rings. However, I would recommend at least medium height rings so it's easier to load.

I would use med rings. But depends on the company.. Med ranges from 10mm to 14mm saddle height.

In order to have longer 'good ranger' around the zeroed spot, I always like to use the low mounts / rings.

So far all my scopes up to 40mm size are good on the low settings, includes a 32mm on my 1322 with low mount and steel breech that provides about 23mm clearance from the scope tube to the breech and it's easy for me to put in a .22 size pellet. And yours is 1377, pellet size is smaller makes it easier to loading...

And I like mounts more than rings... ImageImageImage

Ken, Those are not low rings/mounts. I search high and low for low 1" scope rings. They're not easy to find. Even ones that say low profile are not that low. Most scope rings you buy around are med to high.

The Med I bought from Cabelas for 10$ were labeled med, with only like a 10mm saddle height. When I think of low, I think of like 5mm saddle height low.

Saddle height is the measurement from the ring when it sits on the rail, to the bottom of where the scope touches.

Really?! As all I bought (from Amazon, eBay) are marked as 'low profile'...

However I think your sizes mentioned above are right ~ the 32mm scope I mounted on the 1322 measures 23mm from the scope tube to the breech opening... The saddle height maybe greater than the 14mm you mentioned previously...

And for the 40mm scope on my HW30, scope objective lens radius 20mm, minus the small gap between the HW30 tube and the AO ring on the scope, the saddle height is similar to my other mounts / rings...

But I can't imagine how tiny a low profile ring would be if the saddle height is just a 5mm... Is it possible to even put in the fixing screw which I think is M3 or bigger size... Or what kind of scope can use that small size rings?

And I found the med profile rings at least looks higher than mine on the picture and the high ones are more higher ( usually has see-through opening too...)

2 standards?!
