there is Wes, I'm trying to get to know all the new guys. I really need some help with my Daystate Hun. Regal .22
I had hopes when I bought my dream pcp that I could lower the power for a fun gun not the beast it is now. The bolt is way stiff. Maybe obstruction issue stiff . Totally takes the fun away. So I'm asking if I can send it local here GTA or otherwise I have to send it far. It's a private sail. So AGS may or may not. I was buying the FX Boss/Royal as my second choice... stating to seem best.
Thank you for any help,
Italo Captain Air

I'd highly recommend Will Piatt, down in North Carolina, https://sites.google.com/site/saddlemountaingunsmith/
He's typically placing first in his class when he shoots which tells me he demands accuracy.
I just got my Ataman M2 Sport tuned by him and it is now crazy accurate. Price was reasonable.
Just my $.02

shipping outside of Canada and back again is something I'd want to avoid and stay away from. Too much hassle...paperwork...and risks.
I would guess the other reply is a person from the US on the Forum...so not in the same situation as 'we' Canadians.
The DAYSTATE is a fine airgun and any issues you may have or questions...I'd first start with approaching the 'chaps' on the UK Forums and definitely the: https://www.daystateownersclub.com/forum/
Not sure you really need someone to 'tune' your airgun rifle. May only need some adjustments.
You could approach Travis or Kirk at AirgunSource which sells the DAYSTATE in Canada. They are the only 'authorized dealers' so they have some knowledge and access to DAYSTATE support from the UK if needed.
I would give them a phone call and see from there.
Good luck.!

That sounds like a plan, asking Travis and the daystate dealer guys. They should have an idea how to detune it.

I guess you are right best to take it to Travis but Im starting to like the power and accuracy with the 18gr JSBs.
So I'll keep shooting it.
It's very easy to buy guns from the U.S. so I have a guy now I guess can tune a rifle I buy from there. TKS again for that.
Cheers,
Captain Air

Hello Italo,

You’ve made an excellent choice in a bolt action PCP rifle - the Daystate Huntsman Classic I currently own is the finest airgun in my collection. The issues you mentioned can all be addressed with adjustments and general service, and AGS, Canadian Distributer for the product would be the logical place to go. I second what Hawk-I said about cross border service, especially on firearms - that’s akin to a runaway train without an engineer - you just know how it’s going to end. Not to mention the paperwork and red tape involved - my advice there, FWIW .....just don’t do it.

Although my Huntsman model is older and unregulated (but still very consistent in velocity), Huma-Air does sell retrofit regulators for the Huntsman, as now factory installed in the newer Regals - this would seem a good option for reducing power / velocity while extending shot count. The boys at AGS May also be able to help you with a modification like that. Best to give them a call and ask a few questions.

Cheers!

Avianmanor

Italo ,
I’d be willing to help . I’m not a tuner by any means but I’ve gone through my fair share of sorting out problems with PCP’s . If interested send me a PM . I’m about four hours North if you .
